Division 03
Macomb Contracting
Concrete, demolition, earth moving, and excavation. Owned equipment, in-house crews, and schedules we actually hold.
Overview
The front end of every project.
Sitework is where schedules are won or lost. If the dirt is not right, nothing after it goes right either, and everybody downstream pays for it.
Macomb Contracting is ZCI’s self-performing sitework division. We own our equipment and run our own crews, which means we are not waiting on a subcontractor’s availability to start your job, and we are not passing along somebody else’s markup.
We work directly for general contractors, developers, industrial and commercial owners, municipalities, and property managers, on projects ranging from a single parking lot to full site development.
- Owned fleet, no rental delays
- In-house operators and laborers
- Fully insured, bonding capacity available
- MIOSHA-compliant safety program
- Soil erosion permits handled
- Documented, clean job sites

Capabilities
What we self-perform.
- 01
Concrete flatwork
Parking lots, driveways, approaches, sidewalks, loading docks, aprons, curbs, and industrial slabs. Placed, finished, jointed, and sealed correctly.
- 02
Foundations & footings
Footings, foundation walls, piers, and slab-on-grade for commercial, industrial, and residential structures.
- 03
Structural demolition
Full building demolition, partial demolition, and structural removal with proper permitting, utility disconnects, and debris management.
- 04
Interior & selective demolition
Interior strip-outs and selective demolition in occupied and operating buildings, sequenced around live tenants.
- 05
Excavation
Building pads, basements, footings, ponds, and deep excavation with shoring where conditions require it.
- 06
Earth moving & grading
Mass excavation, cut and fill, rough and finish grading, soil hauling, import and export, and compaction to spec.
- 07
Underground utilities
Storm, sanitary, and water service. Trenching, bedding, backfill, and tie-ins coordinated with the municipality.
- 08
Site preparation
Clearing, stripping, stump removal, erosion control, stone base, and pad preparation ready for the next trade.
Process
How the job runs.
Site walk and takeoff
We walk the site, review soils and survey data, and price from actual conditions rather than an optimistic assumption about what is under the surface.
Permits and erosion control
Demolition permits, utility disconnects, soil erosion and sedimentation control permits, and municipal coordination handled before mobilization.
Mobilization
Our equipment, our operators, on the date we committed to. Site fenced, protected, and set up for safe access.
Execution
Daily progress, grade checks and compaction testing as required, and a superintendent who communicates before problems become delays.
Turnover
Site left to grade, compacted, documented, and ready for the next trade to start immediately.
Selected work
Sitework across Metro Detroit.
We work for general contractors who need a sitework partner that shows up, and for owners who would rather deal with one company from the dirt through the roof.

Next step
Need dirt moved, concrete poured, or a building taken down?
Send the site address and the scope. We will walk it and get you a number.
